Default Fender repair video

Hi, I saw this on youtube and it looked pretty interesting. The aluminum fender was seriously wrinked but they hammered and sanded it out.

Wow. What an amazing repair. The guy is certainly an artist. Most repairs like that would end up finished with Bondo and paint.

He didn't really "sand it out" in the conventional sense. The sanding was first to find the high and low spots and after that, to restore the original patina to the finish. Very little metal was removed by sanding.

i would bet good money that repair took several days if not weeks, if that was being repaired in a traditional bodyshop on your run of the mill car they would just replace the 1/4 panel, modern sheet metal that is used now days wont take that kind of working.

it is impressive though, i enjoy a challenge like that especially when your making 100$ an hour
