Default RE: stickers

To the person who sent a suggestion by email, it was accidentally deleted in my junk mail folder while my email software was still syncing. I can't undelete it and have changed my junk mail settings to prevent this from happening again. I was only able to glance the title of the email so I think it was a suggestion, if so, please post here.

It was me. I was just wondering if you sold stickers with the site URL on them like the other TDIClub does. I didn't see a link anywhere and I didn't see a match when searching.

I'd offer to do some research on making some if there was interest. So basically I was just curious if there were any to purchase.

Thanks.

No, I don't sell any stickers or license plate covers. Plate covers are illegal in some states since they can cover part of the plate and making stickers/plate would consume just too much time that I would rather put into development of the website.

If there was a third party who would be willing to design and produce these stickers, I would gladly grant them use of the logo or site name pending approval of the design. In other words, if you want to do it, go ahead and do some research and if the design is acceptable, I would approve use of the name. I would have to find out more details for how to handle retail sale.

Thanks for the response. I may do some research into this and see what I can come up with. I can understand your viewpoint and focus, and it is appreciated.

There are currently 3 logos (I'm not a graphic designer), one for the home page, one for the FAQ, and one for the forum:

Home page:

The idea of the FAQ logo is just to contain the navigation buttons.

and these forum logos are to keep the page short.

And of course, the Halloween background.

Any kind of bumper sticker or other logo does not have to be in line with these or even have the same color scheme. However, I'm just going to say in advance two things: thanks for any effort on improving the site as I actively implement suggestions to the website or content updates. Having said that, not all suggestions are taken so please don't be offended if it's not.

Fair comment but I was thinking more of a graphical logo not all text?

Probably something with all four VAG emblems in it, now I know you can have copyright issues on those but they could be modded slightly.

Yes you would need someone who is good with graphics so that leaves me out of the list.

I do like the fact that there is not a huge logo because that tends to draw up the cost in layout and custom dies. I have some ideas I'm working on and I'll forward them to you once I feel they're ready for a first pass.

Edition 1 will probably be simple to keep costs down. Once you start putting registered trademarks on anything (VW logos, etc) then the lawyers get involved and releases have to be signed.

Having said that, if someone has an idea for a graphical logo, I'm sure they could run it by Chitty to see what he has to say and move forward from there.

It's an interesting discussion so far and I'm learning a whole new world of decals.

For the first batch I decided to keep it relatively simple. Just the site name in what looks to be the site typeface of Verdana Bold.

Note the background is black so you can see the text. The final decal will not have black but will be clear with white or colored lettering as shown below.

All White:

Colored TDI:

If we do decide to go forward we'd need to see how many are interested. The pricing starts at a staggering $26 for 1-2 and lowers to $7 for 12 or so.

Good start but it's too busy for a bumper sticker, especially the colored one because it makes it harder to read, IMHO. Something simpler (so it can be read at a glance) and that can fit on a small rectangle would be ideal for a bumper sticker. If there are any graphic artists out there who want to add to their portfolio, I'm open to suggestions. The site doesn't have an official logo and TDI is trademarked so any product for sale really can't have TDI, VW, or their symbols on them.
