Default Speed Bleeders

I've had good luck installing/using Speed Bleeders on othe vehicles, so I thought I'd give them a try on my '04 Jetta. As I was doing rear brakes on it anyway, I figured I'd go ahead and install the new bleeders and flush the entire system. The first factory bleeder came out with a little too much resistance I thought, but nontheless, it came out. But then I noticed it had brought some of the threads out with it (galled) from the caliper! I attempted to install the Speed Blleder but noticed it was much longer than the original belleder, so I decided to reinstall the factorry one. I cleaned the threads in the caliper and on the bleeder and reinstalled it,keeping my fingers crossed it would go back in true. Fortunately it did with no leaks.
Has anyone else had this problem while removing the original bleeders?
I orderd Speed Bleeder part # SB1010 (per the customer service rep @ Speed Bleeder). Is this the correct p/n? Is the extra length a problem?
Thanks for any feedback?
