Default Lots of Oil from intercooler tube/ AS Valve?

Hello all -

I've got 70K miles on my '05 GLS auto Golf BEW. I started on a timing belt chage (because it's 7 years old), and found all this crud when I removed the intercooler hose. I cleaned this valve and the egr and the inter-cooler about 20k miles ago, so this is kind of a quick accumulation, it seems. I'm using a "dog-collar" thingy to secure the hose, if that matters.
.
Q: Why so much blow-by (if that's what it is) and is it normal to have the excess oil leak this much? It has been dripping down on the turbo and soaking into the splash shield insulation and causing a bit of a stink ...

I'm a TDI noob but learin'

Thanks !
