Not sure why they designed the car this way. As far as the engine's are concerned, they're all the same 2.0L CR engines across the board between Jetta, Golf, and JSW. It must be a design thing in the actual ignition that requires the key to be turned to the off position before restarting.
Wow. Did you even read my post? I'm pretty sure I explained the German no start without turning off the key thing pretty clearly................................
