The case in CA where the Prius driver burned up the brakes has a really bad response by the driver. The police pulled up aside him and the brakes were flaking off due to overheating and told him over a loudspeaker to put it in neutral but he shook his head no. The driver said he didn't put the car into neutral because he was afraid the car would flip! He also didn't shut off the car. How to stop a runaway Toyota hasn't exactly been out of the news....
